Mike Brydon, Founder & Managing Director
Mike first ventured to Africa in 1984 and after catching the mythical ‘African Bug,’ he returned for good in 1990. Mike is passionate about nature, art and loves Tanzania for its diversity. Starting out as a trekking and mountain guide, then persuing various other avenues ranging from geology to alternative architecture, the native Scotsman started Tropical Trails from the ground up. Mike’s diverse knowledge is vast. If you can, sit him down for a beer and listen to some of his fascinating stories. Mike is also the founder of the Arusha Children’s Trust and Aurora.
Janeth Ngotty, General Manager
Janeth has been working at Tropical Trails since 1995 and is devoted to the company clients. Since being appointed as General Manager, Janeth has made many important changes and streamlined its overall operation (as well as still managing the accounts!). Janeth is passionate about Tanzanian tourism because it exposes the countries beauty to the world.
Helene Wallaert, Sales and Marketing Manager
Helene, who originates from Belgium, just joined the company to create new exciting tours and promote them through every channel of today’s communication tools. She has a long experience of the travel business in Africa and she will also be able to assist, in their own language, our clients who are speaking French or Dutch.
Schola Ungele, Sales and Reservations
Schola’s calm and friendly nature will ensure that every aspect of your Tropical Trails experience is taken care of. Schola has been working with the team for over 4 years. She will always go the extra mile to take care of clients, backed up by anyone she deals with.
Yese Abraham Mongi, Reservations and Head of Operations
Yese is the kind of man that just gets things done and without him we often don’t know how we would cope! A Maasai Man, Yese is the liaison between our office staff, drivers, lodges and the airlines. He’s awake from around 5am every day to make sure that all departures leave on schedule and is usually the last to leave the office.
Martin comes from Kilimanjaro and belongs to the Chaga tribe. He has been working with us for the past 15 years. He enjoys the outdoor and all wildlife. He loves meeting new people from different countries, it allows him to learn new things with every trip and expand his horizon. He is proud to share his naturalist knowledge, always with a smile.
Ole has been working for us since 1995. He belongs to a Maasai family from the Monduli region. What he enjoys the most is to go camping with his guests. It gives him the opportunity to have long talks in the evening around the campfire and really create bounds with our travelers. He is an expert on flora and birdlife and he masters, of course, all the wildlife you might see during your trip.
